Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Rachel (she/her)
8 of us joined together (in a socially distanced fashion,of course) to clear one of Sheffield's persistent grot spots, Broadfield Park and Road. We were roundly ignored by the kids in the playground, but got a few thank yous from cyclists as we headed back along the SUSTRANS path (a familiar location from a previous group run).
Shout out to James and Eugene on their perseverance in trying to clear even the most inaccessible litter. 8 bin liners and a shopping trolley cleared in an hour. Fantastic result. Thanks to last minute sign up Eugene too for remembering to capture some photos along the way.
This was all part of the the Great British September Clean https://www.keepbritaintidy.org/get-involved/support-our-campaigns/great-british-spring-clean For those that couldn't make it in person, if you do a pick between now and the 27th, whatsapp me a photo of your haul and I'll add you to the register
Sustrans are engineers and educators, experts and advocates. They connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute. Sustrans works in partnership, bringing people together to find the right solutions. They make the case for walking and cycling by using robust evidence and showing what can be done. Sustrans are grounded in communities and believe that grassroots support combined with political leadership drives real change, fast.
