Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicky Woodall (she/her)
As we arrived at this mission, we discussed that furniture tasks can fall into two categories - the straightforward and the not-so straightforward. As we left the mission, we agreed that this one fell into the latter category. But, we achieved it (yay).
Our task was to dismantle and move a bed and then an armchair. The bed-dismantling required some creative use of household objects as tools (with the permission of Mr A's daughter) before we finally settled on using some nail clippers as a screwdriver. The next task was to empty the bed drawers of a huge amount of belongings whilst Mr A's daughter looked for a way to organise/arrange these things. Unfortunately, one of the drawers was completely stuck, which required Nicky to crawl inside the bedframe twice (once to unstick the drawer and the second time to loosen some belongings that had got stuck inside). Next came some armchair tetris to fit it through the various doorways. And that was that.
