Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Kash
Today both Sevan and Kash ventured quite far from West London to do some work on computers.
They were considering going for a happy hour with their colleagues in the afternoon when both of them received a mission confirmation!
They had to reach Belsize Park before 18:00 to help Ms H change over winter curtains to summer ones. Sevan enjoyed a 4k run in the open air while Kash, who had further to go, enjoyed a sense of union with other human beings in her proximity.
Sevan's legs were much more reliable than Kash's mode of transport, so he arrived earlier. Ms H was very happy to see GoodGymers. She had benefitted from their assistance before. She showed Sevan and Kash her garden full of beautiful and aromatic plants, including lavender. The secret of that masterpiece was some GoodGym's gardening aficionado (and chicken guano). If there was anything at Ms H's place that outshone the garden, it was the presence of two gorgeous rescue cats: Maya and Mimi. They were both stunning with their pedigree appearance and shy demeanour.
Ms H couldn't hang her curtains because of a fall that resulted in a hip injury and a slow recovery process. She prepared a step ladder next to the window but suggested that the first step would be... getting the ladder out of the way. Indeed, the GoodGymers didn't need it. They swapped the heavy, dark curtains with the light, summery ones in no time. The transformation didn't go unnoticed. Maya looked totally bamboozled when encountering the new curtain for the first time!
Ms H, seeing how efficient the GoodGym team is, gave them a bonus task: fixing the shower curtain. This one was for Kash, who convinced everyone of her technical prowess by reattaching the fallen hoops quickly. She wouldn't be able to do it without an accessory item which was...
cracket - (dialect) a low stool, often one with three legs
That is what the GoodGymers learnt from Ms H, who claimed it was a Northern term, one of many she had taught her children to preserve the regional words she had learnt in her youth.
After the successful mission, this time Sevan decided on experiencing the joys of TFL on the way back home, and Kash ran 9 km to her West London base.

Lismore Circus (near Camden's Gospel Oak) is a wonderful gem of hidden green > we'll be helping the local community care for this space :)
