Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
17 superstar runners met up at Vivo Sports Club for a great little GoodGym run to help spread the word about a Community Centre that needed a bit of attention.
We had a wonderful evening for running - dry and almost warm for the time of year. It was definitely one of those nights to leave the coat behind.
I'd been worried because the flyers that we were supposed to distribute had not actually arrived from the printers. NO! However fortune was on our side and we hooked up with another local community group who also needed flyers distributed! PHEW!
For once our task came to us - we headed off with 300 flyers in my rucksack and headed over to Barton Hill, a part of Bristol that's near but not often visited by GoodGym. Once there, we split in to 3 teams and popped the flyers through letter boxes.
There were 17 of us, 300 flyers; it didn't take long to get them all out in to the world, so we headed back via Anchor Square - a riverside plaza near Temple Meads station with steps! Hurrah!
The team ran from a lamp post, up a few steps, did some press-ups, then ran back to tap the lamp post. Then they ran to another part of the steps and did jump squats... then up and down the steps, then planks, then a speed drill on the step,
Then they did it all over again. And were still (just) smiling at the end. WOW! One of the biggest encouragers throughout the exercise drills was Daniel, from Germany, hence the name of the run...
Once we got back we were reminded that it was David Head's 50th run - MASSIVE HUGE SHOUTY congrats to David! And a big well done to everyone else who came too - the task was a short one, so fab work for smashing those exercise/shuttle run combos!
