We met Gordon again to tackle more of those pesky docks. The whole area has now been rotavated but the weeds have popped up again with avengeance. The ground was very soft due to recent rain so each root came up with a huge clod of earth which we did our best to remove before piling them up under the nearby trees.

We were joined by a couple of young lads (who Gordon knew) who lived close by and wanted to help. They didn't have the GG staying power and left after about half an hour but their help was very welcome.

After 45 minutes of digging out the docks, with the light fading and several inches of mud on our shoes, we called it a day. We've only tackled a small area but every little helps! Gordon has grand plans for the area and has already planted some shrubs and plans to sow the wildflower seeds soon.

Kings Path WIldflower meadow
Starting the creation of a new wildflower meadow

The local residents would like to see this area improved to create a new wildflower meadow with some trees planted round the edges. There are residents who are happy to help look after the area but they would benefit from some help to get the area started.
