Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Simon Loughran
Brand new task for this muggy Bank Holiday evening. Off to Waterside Adventure Playground we went where we were greeted by the delightful Dawn.
Main task for the evening was to turn over all the bark to ensure the 30-60 or so kids that the playground welcomes most days will have a soft landing. The majority of the group grabbed forks and set about digging and turning for a good 35 minutes until it all looked much safer.
Meanwhile Simon and Dawn headed round the back of the building to clear four beds of weeds, which'll be used today to plant potatoes, corn and other bits and pieces.
We fuelled ourselves with some lovely oaty biscuits lovingly made by Caroline's mum. Thank you, Caroline's Mum, they were delicious. She also made some cheese bites which were waiting back at base as an incentive to get there quickly post-task.
Task over there was just time for a little run around the park before heading back for some of those cheese bites.
The big debate was all about everybody's favourite game
Steve was a fan of Timeline mainly because he knows a lot of stuff.
Marie went for the card game Doppelkopf
Board games from a couple. Rachel loves Cluedo (known as Clue in America, which is a rubbish name) and Caroline likes Twister, although Caroline also like "beating Frances"
A couple of video game choices in there. Patrick is a fan of Street Fighter and Daniel prefers Mario Kart
Frances said "eating". Is that a game?
And Simon just lost The Game
Beautiful. See you next week,
Simon
P.S. Here's a fun little time waster game I just found The Circle Game
And a rather addictive YouTube Channel all about toys
Islington
A "treasure hunt" style orienteering challenge around the streets of Islington
