Thanks for being amazing!
(- actual quote from Nunsmoor Park passer-by)
Our monthly mission to Nunsmoor Park is always a treat. There are always great physical things to do, great banter, bags of appreciation and great cups of tea and biscuits at the end!
There was a fab turn out this morning which was great to see as we close in on logging our ONE THOUSANDTH good deed (hopefully on Monday!) Our jobs today included pulling up ash, picking up litter, lobbing down branches so lawn mowers could access the grass around the trees, raking leaves and repeatedly throwing a ball for the resident dog to catch (Andrew getting this down to an art!)
As always it was a brilliant chance for everyone to get stuck in and by giving up a few hours, we actually doubled the number of regular Nunsmoor Park volunteers who come along every month. It's a massive pleasure to see the difference we are making as we join forces every month with the Friends of Nunsmoor Park.
Extra shout out today to Emily's sister Chloe for coming along for her first ever GoodGym task. We would love to see you again next time you are visiting!
There's another chance to do a Community Mission tomorrow when we lend a few pairs of hands to the fabulous Newcastle Junior parkrun. Pop along if you can!
Happy running,
Anji
The Bike Garden is a vibrant community space developed on the site of a previous bowling green in Nuns Moor Park, which now serves the community as a place to join in on regular food growing activities, place to hire for private and public events, that may be regular or one-offs, and much more
