Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a beautiful sunny afternoon in Central London, I was welcomed back, with open arms by the awesomeness that is GoodGym Westminster.
This time injury free, I was excited to get going and keep up with these swift pacers all the way to Pimlico for the St Saviours clean up task at hand.
With housekeeping underway the team welcomed 2 new recruits - Grace and Eva, excited to start their first run with the crew. Holding down the fort for my dear pal Cory, I did my upmost to...... emmmmm poach his party people over to my hood - Brent, but loyal as ever they politely refused.
Setting off a tad late because of all the glorious chatter, it was time check and heads down to Pimlico, where St Saviour's Church on George Square was waiting for us.
The bob and weave game through Regents Street kept us busy and the navigation team even let me have a go at leading the way..... surprising everyone, I got the team to Green Park woo hoo. Quick stretch and on the move again, weaving down the Mall, to Victoria, Vauxhall Bridge Road then arriving at task, where the Marvellous Martin was waiting.
With no time to lose we were on the game - Sweeping leaves, trimming bushes back, clearing litter, our fabulous team of "13 so keen" making a huge difference in a short space of time.
After a not so lucky drop and smash of my phone-screen DOH!!! I was cheered up by Martin and his delectable array of snacks and drinks as a very grateful thank you to the crew!! Amazing!!! And although I feared a series of stitches on the way back, I encouraged a big tucking in, to the massive pile of DONUTS, on display!
After the feast, we had to "dessert" Martin to get back to base in time........ Or perhaps just slightly late on this er hummmmmm one occasion. A tad more straight forward route back, with tempos and strides blasting off the last of the snacky calories!
A quick final pace push took us through the Royal Parks and up to the Ritz, with a VIP citing in a police escorted car finishing off that section........ Rumour has it, it was Boris picking his nose.....you heard it here first. (Grace told us so)
Now for the cool-down, cruising down Old Bond Street, it was chats about meditation and life that accompanied us home. Before we knew it we were stretching against the familiar railings of base camp and wrapping up another GG westminster for the night.
A beautiful evening, shared with beautiful people.
GoodGym Westminster knows how to make a coach feel right at home.
Until next time!!!!
DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPIRE.
