Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Bristol had their monthly Social, sadly Gary couldn't make it and so we were left in Matt's hands, also the weather didn't really play and so we had to move the meeting inside a local pub.
However fortunately he was prepared and produced a set of Horse and Pony Top Trumps - thanks [Tom Benson] for the quiz prize! and we set about having a few games - Sioned won both the solo game and the team game, clearly a top trumper!
Then the weather improved and we moved back to the park for a bit of frisbee.
Below is an extract of the speech given as we realised we had a lot to celebrate:
Bristol has completed 222 Group runs
We initially thought we must be close to two hundred runs, but when we got confirmation from GG central we found we had smashed that and achieved the double Nelson - 222!
The congratulations for this must really go to the core team and especially to Chris and Kim for setting up GG Bristol and Pru for being our awesome trainer.
Dave provided some cake to celebrate which was gobbled up very quickly (don't worry there may be more opportunities to celebrate this landmark!) and I forgot to take a picture!
Running achievements -
Bristol 10K
Ashton Court and Chipping Sodbury Parkruns
Half Iron Man completed
Cheddar Gorge races
Man Vs Horse
In terms of racing achievements Bristol GG has had a brilliant month, first and foremost we had the Bristol 10K, where loads of GoodGymers from Bristol, Bath and London arrived in Bristol and everyone had a brilliant weekend by all accounts.
Next we have had two of our Parkrun's tours, with appearances from Lisa, Dave, Caroline and Debs.
Also Debs who is new to our group has really embraced the GG races, represented us at the Chedder Gorge race - I've run (well walked) up those steps at 8km they are brutal! So well done Debs!
Next we have our (half) iron lady of Charlie who ran her first ever half iron-man
Finally we have the mad Sea Horses of Matt, Paul and Gary who ran in the Man Vs Horse race over in Wales.
Good Deeds - Dave is the best!
Dave managed to achieve the most good deeds last month, which considering he isn't based in London is an awesome achievement!
Attendances - May was our best month ever!
May was an amazing month, as was April we have been consistently smashing our record of the number of attendances at Group runs. So thank you all for coming it is great to see you every week.
Cheers Pru!
Pru has gone cheering crazy this past month and has cheered over a thousand time in the last month, this is awesome support and encouragement - go on go give her a cheer back!
So it has been an amazing month and the next month looks exciting too.
