Report written by Huw Davies
Tonight the GoodGym elves swooped under the cover of darkness on St Matthew's Big Local to wrap up some Christmas presents for children on the St Matthew's estate.
We welcomed Michaela on her first GoodGym good deed, give her a cheer! She told us of her plans for 2021 to run her home marathon in Prague - the thought of which got us all itching to get back to racing.
What seemed like an endless mountain of 250 selection boxes was a daunting task but as ever we delivered. With Huw staying in his lane and sticking to cutting wrapping paper to size, Elena, Lindsay, Mel and Michaela got to work wrapping the boxes achieving an amazing average of 62.5 boxes per person to get the job done!
Simon from St Matthew's Big Local had left us a box of Roses as a thank you which were won by Lindsay in a game at the end of the task. The four contenders had 30 seconds each to survey the foodbank pantry and memorise as much as they could before being asked a question about the contents. Back in the wrapping room the question was delivered, how many tins of beef ravioli were there in the pantry? Lindsay got the closest (albeit being miles out) to the total of 107 and took the prize!
Lovely to be back after the lockdown ruled us out for a few weeks, we'll be back out doing good for the next two Tuesdays, keep your eyes peeled on the website.
Well done team.
