Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
28 runners ran 6k, half shifted wood chip, weeded and allotment and turned compost, the other half shifted 2 tonnes of earth and a pile of wood. A third "rogue duo" stayed back to help our hosts at the Arch Gallery
Monday's run saw us at Stepney City Farm again where this time we had baby sheep (otherwise known as lambs) to cradle at just a day old! That is, after we had done our weeding, log shifting and wheelbarrow filling. The weather was perfect and as the sun set over the farm we made our way back to the Arch gallery along the canal. As part of the Hackney Half training today's run included speeding up for 45 sec periods in order to push our heartrate. Good gym session all round!

A small group branched off to our regular hunting ground of Hollybush House where we were greeted by our usual smiling trio of Margaret, Mick and Sarah. On this occasion it was just two tonnes of soil to move in rather close proximity to their pond - nothing too tasking for us, bar avoiding the pond and not running into one another in our laps! I fear there may be plenty more soil where that came from...

Whilst the other two groups left the for their evening tasks, a rogue duo stayed behind for a DIY spot-fix. Andrew and Hass ran a record breaking 10 metres to the back of the building and joined up with two members of The Arch Gallery team. Dressed in protective goggles, dust mask and nitrile gloves, we then proceeded with our task of sanding down the walls and ceilings of the permanently evolving venue.
Using our coarse grained sandpaper and dropping into gear 3 of Good Gym elbow grease, a fine mist of DIY dust soon descended upon the gallery air. The awesome foursome then decided to stretch out their vocal chords, happily singing 'Raindrops keep falling on my head'. Yes. Quite bizarre! Ladies and gentlemen, it is safe to say that this team of singing sanders definitely will not be appearing on X-factor any time soon.
