I found out from a neighbour on exiting Mr A’s that it was his birthday tomorrow, I cycled and managed to get fruit cake (he had sent old me before in one of our discussions it was his favourite) got some candles, I always carry round Winnie the Pooh postcards so wrote him a birthday one and popped back to the supermarket and found w diary as he had told me he had wanted a new one... he was so so surprised and said “this has been a true highlight, thank you!”
