Filling in at Carroll Gardens
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Carroll Gardens in Nottingham.
- Thursday, 11th of July 2024
- Led by Rachel Levick
The elderly residents of Carroll Court Retirement Home needed help to fill two raised beds so they could start to grow their own vegetables. Could GoodGym help “kale yes we can”. So Rachel and Nigel turnip and despite the rain decide to keep calm and carrot on. They dig fresh soil, fill the wheel-marrow and beet-a-root to fill the beds. In good thyme a mint job had bean finished.
We subsequently received a very positive note from the home. "I would like to thank you for your support and for the help provided by Rachel and Nigel yesterday evening. It will make a big difference to the residents here to be able to finally use and plant up the raised beds. The work you do as volunteers is heartwarming."
