On a chilly January day runners descended on one of our favourite spots to help return it to a pristine glory.

Pulling up weeds and brush downing the path we helped tidy up the path around the gardens to allow others to enjoy it as we progress into spring.

We also planted plants in the border area in the back of the garden to help improve the ground cover, tidying away the litter that had accumulated in the undergrowth as well.

Finally, the duckweed once again needed a collecting and a dumping to help the critters that called the pond home get some much needed spring sunshine. Braver runners than I braved standing near the ice cold water and collected several odd objects from the pond, including a thumb which thankfully turned out to be plastic.

On a personal note, I continued my hot streak of getting to take home free plants to put in my rooftop garden, where it is currently flourishing!

A pleasant way to spend an early afternoon!
