Report written by Mark Gilyead (he/him)
A rare occurence at any GG event - just five guys?!?! But it was lovely to hang out with the ladz last night for a quick jog and a good deed at the fab Cator Park.
We met in the Bridge House, went for a quick warm up, discussed our ideal calendar (wildlife, city night scenes and 90's Crystal Palace FC choices were highlights) and then hit the road down to Cator.
It was a warm evening but we had a really speedy pace and even beat our host Millie to the park! Luckily there was a bit of litter around so we split up and binned what we could.
Water you waiting for?!
Millie then came and assigned us with our task - some watering! It did rain yesterday, but as it's been so dry, we helped to top up the saplings with some buckets-ful from the stream.
Most of us had a go at the 'very medieval' (according to Alex) bucket toss from the bridge into the stream, which is as fun as it sounds. We were then topping up the willow arch, new saplings, orchard and a bed of shrubs. Hopefully our efforts will sort them out for a few days.
When we'd finished, we met Millie's gang of Schnauzers who were being taken for a walk 🐶🐶🐶 and we took a nice photo with a pretty gorgeous sky.
Great to get in some bucket lifting 💪 and a nippy jog 🏃♂️ for a lovely local Friends group.
On the run back we took the opportunity to get a killer boyband snap. Christmas charity single guys?! 🎄
Nice work lads!
