Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Bit of a frosty evening, but Graham wasn't fussed, wearing only shorts and t-shirt and with a deep husky voice (get well soon).
We welcomed newbs Josephine and John. Nice one on getting out for the first time on such a chilly evening. Big shout-out to Bella as well, who ran her 50th good deed - definitely worth a cheer!
Graham, still only wearing shorts and t-shirt (well, what was the choice? take it all off?), led a group down to our regular spot at St. Luke's for more wheelbarrowing, shovelling and filling planters while Simon and Kike took groups up hill (then up another hill, then another, then a really steep hill) to a brand new task: Hornsey Lane Estate Community Association.
We got to the centre in fairly decent time, but then we had the problem of getting in. Speedster David ran round the block looking for an entrance and various others looked at maps and round corners until we eventually found our way in. We just made it in time as well, since Barbara and Joanna had been waiting for us were about to lock up. We apologised, they told us how to actually get to the centre first time and we went crazy cleaning windows for some proper speed volunteering.
We even cleaned the aquarium!
Great jobs all round.
Back at base it was the first in a long line of homemade treats. GG star Patrick had lovingly baked some flapjacks, and they were goooooooooood, some may even say grrrrrrrrrrrrreeat.
And he's set a precedent. Sarah has promised to bake up some brownies next week. Does this mean the Islington biscuit has been replaced with homemade snacks? Not permanently. We will always keep a biscuit base.
Debate of the night: how cold is too cold? When a match freezes you know you're in trouble.
Starter session tonight starts at 18.15 and then we're back next week for tasks at Freightliners Farm, HNP, Wilton Square and St. Luke's. Is that four? Yes, that's four! Everybody wants us!
See you there,
Simon
