SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Simon Loughran
It was a cold, dark evening.
No, it was a hot, light evening. I don't know why I lied there.
A rather quiet evening though - at least for Islington - with just 15 souls gracing the streets with their GG presence, and among them Alberto who was down for the very first time.
The task tonight was to head back up to Whittington Park Community Association to do a spot of weeding and clean out their buggy stores. Many hands make light work and it wasn't long before the area outside Whittington's nursery was weed-free and the buggy stores were sparkling.
Round the corner we went to undergo a short circuit session called "Leg Destroyer". Squats, forward and backwards lunges, static squat, calf raises and jump squats meant that everybody was well aware of all the muscle groups in their lower body. We did chuck in 30 seconds of press ups for good measure as well.
Then it was back home. David and Danny Abs led a fast group that detoured via Emirates, while Simon took an easier-paced group who included some speedy stride outs and also stopped for biscuits (Chocolate Leibniz).
Debate of the evening was almost political: Is it bad if you don't register to vote? Yeah, it is a bit, but you don't have to. Sarah said that it's fine, but if you don't you shouldn't then moan about anything. If you haven't registered to vote then it's too late now. Ha!
Until next time,
Simon
P.S. A few were wondering how fast they could run a mile and Danica mentioned the Golden Stag Mile

We get a delivery of Leibnitz every week via the milkman. I can generally demolish a packet in a minute or so
