Firstly, a very happy Diwali and Bandi Chorr Divas to all those celebrating.
Just like the 4 GG’ers tonight with our lights, many houses in Slough will be lit up with candles and divas to celebrate the ‘Festive of Light’, where good prevails over evil!
Our battle for good tonight was to collect as much litter as we could from Hawkers Hill area in Foxborough!
We met outside bugens at 18:30 to go over the task brief and safety info whilst warming up in the spitting rain! Then off we headed through Langley High St to Common Rd and into the park.
Lightening doesn’t strike twice!
With the horrendous weather we had yesterday, we were lucky to just a light drizzle during our group session.
Tonight’s team consisted of
Watt’s up? - Jean;
You light me up - Sandy;
Better light than never - Lauren;
It’s never too light to learn - Manjit.
Smokin’ in Slough
The sky was lit tonight with celebratory fireworks. They were beautiful to watch and gave us extra light as we headed into the bushes to find the treasure’s!
Although it was great that the beer cans and crisps packets were on the light side, sadly we found a suitcase full of dumped clothes.
Sandy had a story about what happened. Something to do with a man, his wife, her sister and Gary the snail! I’ll let her tell you that story!
Lauren’s luck was in tonight when she found a lottery ticket! Jackpot!!!
Next week is Halloween!! So I’ve promised my kids a night out! Therefore our task will be on Tuesday evening instead.
