Has spring sprung or has the beast from the east returned?
On a rainy cold Easter bank holiday Monday it was great to welcome new member Barbara to her first Monday night outing. Barbara has joined us as she wants to improve her speed, run in a group and do some good within the local community.
After a GG document check together with some chat we were soon joined by Duncan Belinda and Nick
One of the brightest bits of the day was, before we set off, to sit and choose the flowers for our sea front flower bed which GG are participating in this summer. Unsurprisingly we have decided on a red theme and completed the order form accordingly. Planting day is Sunday 13th May ! Put this in your diaries please.
After a cancelled task today due to the ground being water logged , undeterred we re grouped and headed off to a local community park for a much needed litter pick. Although this doesn't sound too glamorous it was actually a great sheltered task for the wettest task yet in Worthing.
Blue Monday Wombling
We all spread out and worked the circumference of the park picking up all types of mentionable and unmentionable rubbish into the trusty blue sacks that the local council will pick up in the morning. Then the rain poured down. Luckily Belinda had her cycle helmet on :) Barbara and Duncan had hats on and Nick a cap so it was only me that ended up looking like a drowned rat !
Lets go on a flower bed hunt
Leaving the park behind we headed off to the seafront in search of our elusive GG flower bed number 41 but sadly no luck finding it although Belinda and I eyed up a few we would like to take over and makeover !
I will investigate further the location of this exciting new project further and get back to you all .
Damp but strangely energised we headed back to base for some stretches and goodbyes.
a bientot
So as Nick and I head out to Australia to support our youngest daughter who is competing in the commonwealth games I am leaving GoodGym Worthing in the capable hands of Beth for 3 weeks and Tara for 1 week until 7th May when we will be back . Until then, enjoy the tasks I have set up , keep feeling the GG love and.....
Keeeep running!
