For the very first Nottingham Goodgym session, Ashley and Alison met Adele from the Bulwell Forest Garden. After a quick tour we set to work clearing a patch of overgrown weeds giving better access to the raised beds. Only stopping briefly for a slice of cake we did what we could in the time while having a natter about upcoming races and past glories. The Bulwell Forest Garden is a magnificent organisation who do so much good for the local community. Hopefully Goodgym Nottingham can support them for many more times.

Community Garden

Bulwell Forest Garden is a community project in an area with high levels of deprivation and health inequalities. Together we grow fruit and vegetables in 25 raised beds, and have a community orchard, sensory garden, wildflower meadow and outdoor kitchen, which is open to the public 4 days a week. We provide volunteering opportunities 4 days a week, a weekly Lunch Club, weekly outdoor yoga throughout summer, family activity days during school holidays, adult educational workshops and seasonal celebrations. Our aim is to strengthen our community and provide opportunities for people who are isolated, so they feel included and valued.

So sorry I didn't turn up! I have a terrible memory but that was really rude of me. Apologies.
