Today's mission was to help clear Mrs A's garage into a skip in order that she was ready for a future move into sheltered accommodation.

The five of us were met by several of Mrs A's family who had already got started and made some good progress sorting out what needed to be kept and beginning to fill the skip with everything else.

With all of us working together we made short work of the smaller items, discovering some interesting items along the way.

In fact Fi proved to have quite an eye for a discarded treasure and was allowed to save a discarded bench grinder for use in her jewellery making by the family - along with a lovely clamp and padlock!

There is something quite satisfying in throwing pieces of old timber and plastic into a skip, but perhaps more pleasing still was finding that one or two items were a little large and required some judicious use of a sledgehammer; just to allow them to fit snugly inside you understand.

In just over an hour the skip was full and after a welcome cup of tea and a bit of a chat we all went on our way.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to help on the Bank Holiday weekend and very best wishes to Mrs A on her forthcoming move; may you have many happy years in your new home!

Ahh, big fan of that report title, Paul. I got some funny looks on account of the massive clamp sticking out from my bag - glad it could be salvaged and additional skip space made available in the process..
