I had a lovely afternoon chatting with Mr D between my work appointments. Today he was curious to know what I had learnt on a recent speed awareness course (no I'm not proud...). He was really pleased to hear about the key points I mentioned but I did feel like he was putting me through my driving test again. He had a twinkle in his eye as he asked me all about how I should know what the speed limit is on different roads and what stopping distances should be etc. He just wants me to be safe on the road. We laughed about the rhyme, "Only a fool breaks the 2 second rule" and he wanted to know if I had put my learning into practice on a recent drive to Manchester. I started to tell him how I had been tailgated by a lorry , and although he no longer drives he was happy to share the wisdom from his experience both driving cars and lorries in the past, and he then reminisced about all sorts of different road trips. He is always happy talking about cars, and his advice will be very helpful.
