Kash and Sevan visited Mrs M, who spoke to them about her family's history, from her time growing up in Morocco, through emigrating to the UK and the lives of her children and grandchildren. Mrs M talked fondly of her home country and shared the ingredients of a local soup that she would make to break the Ramadan fast tonight.

Mrs M insisted on her guests having tea, even after they politely declined. They felt bad as Mrs M wouldn't be able to share a cup with them. Kash and Sevan resisted the biscuits, even though they eventually gave in and drank the tea that was placed in front of them. Mrs M had to explain to one of her grandsons, who was visiting, that the tea needed to be made without sugar. She said it a few times to stress the point, no sugar, as it must've been an unusual request in the house.

Some local history was shared with the visitors too, helping to give them more knowledge of the area. They learned that what is now Legoland Windsor used to be a safari park where Mrs M's husband worked. Before that, he originally came to the UK to work at the nearby Billy Smart's Circus, where Mrs M's story in the UK began. The rest, as they say, is history.

Thanks so much to you both for doing a mega-round of social visits in Maidenhead. We always have more requests than we can fulfill, so thank you for doing some touristing!

Thanks! We don't have social visits in Ealing, so it was a great opportunity to fill in for the Maidenhead regulars! 😊
