Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

20 Hackney Heroes ran a spectacular 8.5k to the Living Well community garden in Stamford Hill.
Great to have a few GoodGym first timers in the mix! After a new runner briefing we got going with a speedy start to the session to squeeze as much in as we could!
The Speedy Group got moving to go and get set for the rest of the crew. A warm and sweaty 4 and a bit K later we had reached our destination to be greeted by a revitalising platter of Watermelon! A little nibble and we got stuck right in!
Hacking back , pulling up, pick axing, digging, and wheely bin stuffing at a ferocious pace! Transforming the place from an overgrown wilderness to a space ready to be redesigned!
The redesigning will be part of the Living -Well organisation's activity program to do some gardening-based exercise with the residents battling diabetes.
With 35 minutes of intense graft we really made a change! We will be back in a few weeks to continue the project and get the soil prepared for some planting!
With a watermelon reward and a chat with task owner, Rosemary, we staggered our leaving times to get the most work in!
With a slightly downhill run back we made great time and really got into our stride finishing strong with a little puppy cuddle in the home stretch!
Thanks for your efforts on a jam-packed session! Be great to have you along next week on our monthly Abney Park adventure!! A shorter 3k each way run to go with some fun physical work should be fun!
Thanks to Peter for bringing along the extra tools!! Made a huge difference!
GoodGym Monthly drinks on Thursday, check out the website for details!!
