I made my way to Clapham Junction to collect some shopping for Mrs P. She had conveniently made a list of what she wanted and sectioned it up, which made manoeuvring the store easier.

First section was fruit and veg, which went pretty peachy: - White grapes - Green bananas x 2 - Plums or peaches - Mushrooms - Spinach - Asparagus - Mixed peppers - Tomatoes - Aubergine.

Grape job, and there was mushroom left for the next bits: - Minced pork (5% fat) - Minced beef (5% fat) - Chicken drumsticks.

Pork, mince and chicken please meat my shopping basket. I carried on round to the store cupboard essentials, and nearly went pasta the eggs without putting 15 of those in: - 15 eggs - Spaghetti - Bolognese sauce.

Dairy wasn’t quite so cheesy, as there was no grated mild cheddar. There wasn’t any blocks of non-grated mild either. No point crying over spilt milk though, so in went: - Red top milk.

The finale was a treat: - Milk and dark chocolate - Tortilla chips.

There were also some nuts on the list, but Lidl was out of stock of those too, so I had to suffice without. I went to the self checkout to pay, and amazingly the total came to less than £20. Who needs simply peanuts when the cost of all that was simply peanuts?!

On route to Mrs P’s I made a stop off at Boots to pick up her prescription too. In the words of the Spice Girls, two deeds became one. Then it was delivery time, and I dropped off the supplies to a very thankful Mrs P.
