The four of us met at Finchley Way Open Space (two of us actually met along the way and ran the last bit there together) and were greeted by Suzanne, who showed us some of the developments since our last visit. The space has come on a lot and is looking lovely now - clear of rubbish, with new fencing, paths and a defined work and compost area. Transformed!

Last night’s task was to dig over an area of earth to remove bramble roots and prepare it for planting. The ground was nice and soft due to the ridiculous amount of rain we’ve had recently, which made the job easier.

After about an hour’s digging we had made really good progress. This is one of my favourite tasks recently - the group of four of us got on so well and shared some really interesting stories that the hour just flew by and I was amazed when it was time to pack up. We didn’t completely finish digging over the patch but covered most of the area, and the bit we did manage was done thoroughly - I doubt even the hardiest of bramble roots could have survived that!
