The Feltham Sea Cadets do lots of great work with the local community, including providing a safe space and activities for young people. Unfortunately failed their building inspections last year and were set to close permanently. They were able to get a grant for the main structural work, and have relied on volunteers to do much of the rest. Many people were hard at work in the building on Saturday morning, and three GoodGym-ers were happy to be able to contribute. As instructed, we painted a few walls and ceilings with whitewash, as base coating that will help the main paint to go on smoothly afterwards. It was a rewarding task that contributed to the reopening of the building (set to happen this coming weekend). They were grateful for our help and we really made a difference!
