SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael
3 GoodGym members got together on a Saturday, the task originally was to demolish a structure however the organisers had decided to try to keep it. So our new task was to move it to its new location, where it currently stood was going to be the new spot for a brand new shed......I smell another task in the waiting!
After a quick coffee, walking the route and checking out the structure it was time to get moving, firstly we had to lift the front posts out of the ground before it could be lifted and carried over to the new area. Once it was free we realised that is was surprisingly heavy, so along with some additional volunteers we each took corners and slowly moved to our new spot. Regular breaks had to be taken, but we made it and the structure stayed in one piece.
YES
Now for the exciting time, just in was a great looking new tool a fence post hole maker. First to penetrate the soil was Fiona, straight in and screwing like a pro, it was great fun but still a hard work. After photographing and admiring the hole it was the turn of Mikey to get screwing. A few moans later, and a few rocks later he was done.
Now to stop screwing around and finish the task, we popped the structure in its new base and securely in the holes, a bit of back filling later and we were done.!
Why did we enjoy the task so much?
The sudden realisation that it was like a giant bottle opener.
