Taking a risk on some inclement weather, 20 runners ran 4.3km to help out at a multi-cultural play centre in Toxteth.

We started the evening with a few announcements about #GGSuperSaturday on 21 September which we'll combine with a birthday party to celebrate GoodGym's 10th birthday nationally. On Super Saturday our aim is to get as many folks as possible doing Community Missions across the UK. Mat and Christine have set-up a really fun Community Misson for us, so get signing up here.

The team made good time (whilst chat, chat, chatting) down Princes Ave and through rat ally until we reached Lodge Lane and the brilliant Greenhouse Project. Greeted by Debbie, she put us to work across lots of areas of the centre. As the summer holidays have just finished, the kids come back to the centre on Wednesday so the aim was to get things in ship shape before the children come back and mess it all up again ;)

Lots of the team were busy sanding external doors ahead of them being painted. There was also a team taking down hooks, some folks were scrubbing down the crayoned-up walls while John swept the path outside the centre and Louise leisurely painted a wooden step. Craig had a tough job trying to vac the sanded down paint whilst the team walked it all over the centre's carpets!

Shout out to newbie Will who slotted in as if he's been GoodGyming for years - come run with us again soon! Also a shout out to our old friend Tony - great to see you pulling on that red t-shirt again. See you soon?

Everything spick and span, we set off on a different route home (why double back if we don't have to?) dodging pedestrians, cars and kebabs along Lodge Lane. We stopped off in the park for a quick fitness session aimed at waking up and developing those lazy glutes. Good balancing and nice lunges folks!

Another super effort team. So glad to see so many smiling faces even on an almost rainy day - you're the best! Next week were up the hill (it is a bit of a slope folks!) to Kenny. Are ya coming? Sign-up here.

P.S. Kudos to Effie for the title pun :)
