Bright and early on a sunny Saturday morning, Sam & Beth met at Mrs B's house to help her with some little gardening tasks. We were greeted by Mrs B (and her excitable young spaniel, who was barking a hello at us from the front room of her house). 🐕

Job number one was to remove a plant which had started to grow out of control. Before we began, Mrs B told us there was a stone badger hidden somewhere amongst the greenery. After some careful work to prise the roots away, the badger was once again a visible feature in the garden. Mrs B's son brought out her lovely little pup to say hello before taking him off for a walk - both Sam and I enjoyed the quick doggy snuggle!

Task number two was to remove dead leaves from Mrs A's garden grasses and Yuccas. As we worked to collect the fallen leaves, Mrs B came to sit on the bench by us and chatted to us about her family, her love of gardening and even baking. It was wonderful to hear her stories, and was clear that she took a lot of pride in her little garden - Sam and I were honoured to lend a hand with keeping it looking neat and tidy.

At 10:30 we called time, and both prepared to head home - Sam was running the 10km back home, and Beth was headed back across the river on her bike & to another Goodgym task!
