On a grey June morning, two keen GoodGym-ers arrived at Woolwich Common raring to do some litter picking.

We were met there by the wonderful Friends of Woolwich Common, who work to protect this beautiful open space and keep it clear from litter. They provided us with bin bags and pickers, so we swiftly set off in the direction of some reported litter sightings.

Unfortunately for us (but fortunately for the environment) there was very little litter to be found today! Between us, myself and Julian only managed to fill one black sack in an hour! But we still removed lots of nasty plastic that would have played havoc with the local flora and fauna if left there. In even better news, the rain stayed away for the whole task!

This is a recurring mission on the last Sunday of each month, so do come along in the future if you're free!
