Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
5 runners delivered flyers for 2.5 miles, then finished with an interval session
A deceptively mild day in a bustling Olympic Park. The Hammers were playing the oil rich Chelski of west London. Police and security seemed to be out in their droves. Fortunately for the five do-gooders of Newham, they didn't obstruct our delivery path.
We ran north after an uber short warm up. Flyering was our evening task, after a late cancellation from ViewTube. Roughly 200 flyers we circulated, dropping them through locals letter boxes. All of them Goodgym Newham flyers, on nice thick card, with a lovely colour theme, a tad of information, plus communication details. Surely we'll get a couple of new joiners from this?! Fingers crossed!
After we flyered (is that a word?!), we finished with a little speed session. 6 x 45 secs, with the same recovery. Alice toughed it out after another track session the day before, plus two races on Saturday...I reckon she is in superb PB shape. Alex looks to be flying after her half marathon efforts, she was skipping along like a whippet. Violeta looks to be benefiting from her half marathon training too, leading the pack with a determined stride - San Sebastian - watch out. Rodrigo on his 7th GG in a row was looking fresh too, can he make it to the 10 consecutive holy grail mark? Time will tell...
As Ally Pally Parkrun is a now cancelled, I just set up a new event on the website. We're heading to Hackney Marshes for a super flat, super quick 5k. Right on most of your doorstep...this is surely a winner! At the moment we have Alice, Alex, Violeta, Rodrigo and myself confirmed. I'm sure we can get a few more?! Breakfast will follow.
