Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Manjit Birk
As you settle down for the evening and get all warm and cosy indoors, a group of people are out in the midst of Slough getting ready to help tidy up at the allotments.
These people are known as GoodGym’ers and they are a happy bunch who wear red t-shirts and a smile on their faces.
They like to spend every Monday evening helping their local community by doing something they call ‘good deeds’.
And tonight they put their efforts into digging up the long grass around the shed and the overhanging weeds to one of the plots.
The have a lady in their team called Pam. Pam is a keen gardener and knows her marrows from her courgettes.
As they pottered around the allotments pulling weeds and using their forks, the sunset over Slough casting a beautiful red sky.
How do they do it in the dark you may ask?
They carry bat lights and body torches. They look like super humans shining the way for their good deeds.
So, the next time you are out on a Monday night and you see these people with their red tops and lights…. You can say
I know them. They are GoodGym!
