Islington Bear gets a new home.
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Sunday, 8th of November 2020
It was an honour to be joined by GoodGym royalty in the form of Becs today, who kindly stepped in somewhat at the last minute to this mission as Isabelle had unfortunately injured herself yesterday (we wish her a speedy recovery!).
We quickly located both Ms L's flat on the first floor and the bin area where we needed to take her cupboard, and set about getting it down the two flights of stairs, across the car park and into the bin store without crushing fingers or toes (easier said than done...).
Rather like the lyrics to the Teddy Bear's Picnic, we were in for something of a surprise when we got there, as we found a forlorn looking bear lying face down amongst the rubbish. Determined to give him a better home before his final journey, we decided to make him comfortable in Ms L's now discarded cupboard...if only we'd brought along some marmalade sandwiches...
