Sunday 19th December 2021
Report written by Ema Quinn (She/her)
A crisp and slightly sunny December Sunday lunchtime, and a bunch of trestle tables in the yard of The Greenhouse Project on Lodge Lane was the perfect setting for our last Community Mission of 2021! It's one of our favourite annual Christmas tasks, wrapping Christmas Presents for the local kids, a great way to really get into the Christmas spirit!
With Christmas pop songs blasting from the radio, and a pile of paper, scissors and sellotape, we picked our stations and wrapped each present with Christmas dinosaur themed paper (who knew dinosaurs were for Christmas!) adding a name label to each present which the team at the Greenhouse Project had personally picked for each child.
In under an hour we had worked through the pile of presents and went off cycling, walking and running our way home.
The Greenhouse Project is a charity founded in 1997 in the heart of Toxteth, Liverpool designed to give disadvantaged children and young people the opportunity to increase their creative potential and grow their life chances.
