Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)
Eek! Sogginess! Fortunately we had a wet weather plan and the hardiest pf GoodGymmers to make the journey across Gaol Ferry bridge for the last time whilst they start repair works.
We had to guess it was Alice W heading across the square, fully prepared for run leading tonight.
With the promise of cake after the run the was astounding enthusiasm as we piled our soggy jackets and bags in the middle of the hall and set to trying to open a tin of paint. Three GoodGymmers later, paint was being shared into all sorts of containers and the very careful* cutting in, slapping on and rolling, rolling, rolling of the shade of grey was making the wall look fresh, the floor look slightly splattered and the wiping cloths looking more painty than some areas of wall.
We started small and grew in grey confidence to get almost all the way round the hall, thankful for scrubbable white walls above the grey and parquet flooring.
All too soon, it was time to tidy up the paint brushes and rollers, wave goodbye to Hugh and set out for the much drier run back for CAKE to celebrate Julie's 200th good deed (we'll celebrate Jenny's when she brings cake ;-)
Which brings us to the amazing realisation during painting that ALL the GoodGymmers in the hall had at least 200 good deeds, proving that we love GoodGym so much that a bit of rain put these hardy souls off when there's chat, laughs and loveliness to be shared. And cake, did I mention that?
