Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
At around 12pm this afternoon I looked out of the window and I panicked. After my blood pressure had returned to a place that the NHS would deem reasonable I began to do the opposite of a rain dance. 10 minutes later the rain didn’t just stop, the sun came out, birds began to sing and in the distance I could see a rainbow with a small message attached to it.
It read “For GoodGym”
We fast-forward a few hours after and its 645pm, we are in our new location at Superfit only a stones throw from our previous HQ and we have lots of smiley new and old faces.
We introduce ourselves, share stories of Christmas and New Year and tell our newbies how awesome GG is and why they have done the right thing by joining our band of merry men and women.
Our task for this evening was to head over to EcoActive on the Morningside estate for a number of things.
Firstly a team would finish painting the planters in a beautiful shade of pink. A second team would wash a bespoke bench and wax it. A third team would rake the grounds and fill the compost boxes with leaves and finally a fourth team would pull weeds out of the church grounds adjacent to the estate.
Need I say anymore?
Now this was teamwork at its best, a well-oiled machine working towards one simple goal. GET THIS DONE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
Why? Intervaaaaaaals ;-).
35minutes passed it was alllll done and dusted. We tipped our hats and thanked Sarah and Betsy for having us.
A light jog to get warm again, some high knees, fast feet, skipping, singing, sprints, lunges and lots of smiles….
And then? Time for bed…
Goodgym, you truly have been missed and its good to be back.
As always, thank you for your time. For those of you who came for the first time I hope you enjoyed yourselves and will return next week and for those of you who enjoyed 2014 with me, thank you for coming back ;-)
Please continue to do small things with great love.
