Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tower Hamlets runner
Team of 4 devoted goodgym runners and cyclists came to help at Borough food cooperative.
Apart from our usual tasks, shelf restocking and vegetables sorting (cheer those upsetting up), this time we were given a new challenge - empty dozens of Nacho cheese dip, that had already passed their best. The jars and lids will be washed and recycled, whilst the dip will go to food waste.
Gemma has shown her wrist power. Opening jar after jar effortlessly. Fleur and Ceiling scooped out the content. Mayuko joined the team scooping so Ceiling switched to jar opening later.
None of us has ever opened so many jars in one go! Therefore that would be our personal best and remain world (our own world) record until then!
Well done team! May the force and the cheesy messy odor be with you!
The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households
