Monday night GoodGym activity may look a bit different for a while, but the feelgood factor is certainly alive and well!

This evening's task was at the beloved Parkview Estate and it was a real treat for the GoodGymmers that got involved. It was lovely to be back and see the ever-cheery task owner Catherine and after a quick introduction we were split off into groups dispersed around the estate doing a handful of much needed tasks, including removing pesky bindweed, planting lavender and giving the thirsty fruit trees a good watering.

It was a most special occasion to be back (albeit in a different manner to our beloved Group Runs) on a Monday night with many familiar, friendly faces as we caught up and traded lockdown stories whilst going about our tasks with the customary GoodGym enthusiasm.

We were delighted to plant plenty more lavender in a number of places around the estate and as we were wrapping up Catherine pointed out a couple of places where some GoodGym planted lavender was really flourishing.

Some special mentions for today:

  • Massive congratulations to Kat on her 5️⃣0️⃣th good deed! Looking forward to you sporting your new black t-shirt soon 🌟
  • Huge GoodGym welcome to Sree on her first ever GoodGym good deed - a real pleasure to have you join us tonight, and looking forward to seeing you again very soon!
  • The tremendous Tower Hamlets superstars Isabelle, Martin, Becky and Jo who made it 2 Community Missions in the space of 3 days, after their litter picking heroics in Meath Gardens on Saturday morning 👍
  • It was a delight to welcome Toyin, Frankie and Jennifer from nearby Hackney - we hope to see you all again soon too!

Laura is doing a wonderful job behind the scenes liaising with our wonderful task owners and sourcing out new tasks for us to tackle, so keep an eye on the site, her emails and the WhatsApp group to find out what exciting things are in store for us all.

Finally, also thanks to both Kat and Laura for me borrowing/stealing their words to make up this report

Parkview Estate Tenants and Residents Association (TRA)
Parkview's TRA, a local team helping out on the large, vibrant Parkview estate.

A large, well located Estate in the heart of Tower Hamlets, the Parkview Estate is managed by Tower Hamlets Homes (THH). The estate is situated on the edge of Victoria Park between Old Ford Road and Sewardstone Road. A committed TRA, including longstanding residents, enjoy supporting THH to maintain the Estate's gardens and the Glasshouse, the estate's much-loved community centre, as well as supporting residents.
