Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicky Woodall (she/her)
10 lovely GoodGymmers met on a bright sunny Tuesday evening to help Brixton Road Youth Centre prepare for their reopening in September. The outdoor areas have inevitably been a bit unloved over lockdown so there was plenty to be getting on with. Sharron had a great selection of tools for us to use so we quickly set to work with some classic leaf-based activities, including leaf-brushing, leaf-sweeping, leaf-raking and leaf-bagging. We also removed some pesky weeds (and even a big sapling!), plus some litter-picking.
Everyone got stuck in and in no time, Sharron was very happy with our hard work and suggested we call it a day. Don't worry though, there are still plenty more leaves around the side, so it sounds like we'll be back soon to do some more classic GoodGym leaf-removal services.
The youth centre provides a space for young people to hang out, play games and socialise.
