Patrick and James battled sun and rain to tame the foliage in Miss A’s front and rear courtyards.

It was the best of times, it was the cloud-burst of times. The sun was shining when your faithful GoodGymmers turned up to Miss A’s property, and yet... we were drenched. Yes it was one of those days: four seasons in one hour. Rinse, repeat.

Luckily us GoodGym folk are waterproof and doing good deeds is an all-weather affair.

A quick briefing from Miss A and we were off to the races, starting in her front courtyard where we were greeted by a vine, grown lush and overbearing above the front door, and two bushes looking guilty after swelling wildly beyond their remit during the recent warmer months.

James gave the vine a stern talking to, convincing it very persuasively (with only minor inducement from the garden shears) that it was no longer in its best interests to extend beyond the fenceline or up onto the roof via complex intermingling with the gutter.

Patrick then opened his famed pop-up salon and treated his two non-paying customers to the latest style cuts. Those bushes may not have been the most talkative of clients, but mark my words - they will turn heads on the high street.

We then moved to the back courtyard where we quickly cleared weeds from between the pavers to round off a good deed well done indeed.

Our task completed we headed home to thunderous applause.
