Ten athletes took to the streets of Penge tonight, covering 3km, painting peachy walls and smashing a fitness session in the 'scary park'.

We have a lovely group of regular runners here in Bromley now, but it is always a treat to welcome someone new. Hello to David, who joined us for his first ever GoodGym group run - if you click on his name, you can give him a great big cheer and make him feel even more welcome :)

Will run for mince pies

Before we set off into the unexpectedly mild evening (I had way too many layers on), we talked briefly about our upcoming pre-Christmas race over in Greenwich Park (with mince pies at the end, yum!) and our Christmas social (oh, how handy to have a start point that is also a pub with food!), sign up and get them in your diary!

Peachy peach

This week took us to Melvin Hall again, to see if we could eradicate some more of that peachy paint. It had dried nicely since last time, but there were still some pretty obvious areas that needed our attention, so a whole second coat was rolled and brushed on, with DJ Louise on the decks. First up was a kind of countryish mix (or so it sounded to me), with very little singing along going on. A comment from me about 90s Indie set our other Louise and Jane off an a sentimental journey through the streets of Manchester and some long-lost club nights. Sigh. On came the Indie mix and out came our singers.

The room we were painting was super warm and it felt as though the paint was drying as we put it on the walls, so it was difficult to see where we were up to! It was easy to see that it was looking much better though, when we stepped back and surveyed our handiwork. I have a feeling we'll need to come back again soon and truly banish that 80s vibe. Rollers, trays and brushes washed clean, we said goodbye to Claire and went on our merry way.

Run!

We always try to fit in a fitness session on our return run and tonight we made use of the 'scary park' as Louise calls it. It was a bit scary the other week, what with the fireworks and all, but tonight we had it to ourselves for some good, hard shuttle runs combined with an escalating sequence of squats and push-ups. Great determination all round!

As we stretched, we heard about next week's group run, our first flyering task (posting, rather than handing out!), spreading the word about two organisations, Evolve and the local Clock Tower Market. Why not sign up now and pop it in your diary?

See you then!
