Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tower Hamlets runner
Record numbers of GoodGym red t-shirts turned up to the Bethnal Green Food Bank evening shift to help giving out food packages to local charity clients.
Kim came down from across the border in Hackney, where word has spread that Tower Hamlets is where it's at.
Eva hadn't been for a while, but brought along Harry for his first GoodGym task, and we think we've convinced him that it's all worth it so he'll be back for more.
John, Sara and Fiona were in charge of counting supplies in the stock-room, Simon and Harry packed nappies then counted up all the client tickets for the Food Bank's audit, and Kim, Thor and Eva picked up the tickets that told our team what products were needed for each package delivery.
Task managers Sue and Andy had us working hard, but kept us energised with plentiful supplies of chocolate (Dairy Milk with fizzy cherry?? Some liked it!)
At the end of the night, Simon and Sara packed up the tables, Fiona swept the floor, and we all decamped to nearby East End boozer The Camel for refreshment.
Great work everyone!
"We believe abundance and not scarcity, we believe in being good stewards and sharing this abundance and we believe in Bethnal Green."
