Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gosia Rybacka
Today, Victoria, Mark and Gosia (on her 100th good deed journey) met up at Mrs A's home in Lambeth to move furniture and help in any other redesign activities. Mrs A will soon come back from a hospital, so her house needed a quick subtle interior redesign to secure a suitable and comfortable space for her bed. We were welcomed by Ms R., a carer from a hospital, who gave us directions on what needed to be done.
First, we focused on big 2 seater sofa, which was supposed to be moved from the living room to the bedroom. Moving it outside a room through a quite narrow door seemed to be a mission impossible at first but we tackled this task surprisingly quick. As we in GG know -- impossible is nothing!
The second task was to move a cabinet and this seemed to be more challenging and time-consuming, mostly because of an impressive collection of pots, cups, gifts and bottles stored inside. All needed to be emptied out. Together with Mrs R., we moved all the stuff from the cabinet onto a floor and a table standing nearby. Once this was done, we fairly quickly (light as a feather!) moved the cabinet to the bedroom.
Putting all things back to the cabinet did not seem to be super safe so - instead - we left it empty and used a wardrobe in the bedroom to store the items. This way, they were much more secured, hidden and could be easily taken out if needed.
Mrs R. was thankful for the help and took few photos so she could show Mrs A what we have done.
