From different directions, the wind brought five goodgymers to the centre of Sefton Park today to attend a litter picking task. Leaning into or being propelled by it, the team, much like Michael Jackson in the Earth song video, braved the wind.
The Friends of Sefton Park held another of their weekly Sunday litter picks and got us tooled up in no time to start into our work. A nice addition to this week's work was the planting of periwinkles. Kudos to Pauline for getting stuck in. Check out the pics if you too thought that periwinkles were just shelled seasnails!! I lowered my eyebrow when Pauline explained it to me!
Christina and Matt went about the task with gust-o! (not pun apologising or I'll be here a while!). In fairness to them, they made it look a breeze and came back with heavy bags filled by the end of the task.
It was great to meet with members of the Friends of Sefton Park and some were interested in joining us, as well as other runners in the park that came up to ask during the work. You could say that they've caught wind of us......
All in all we had a gale of a time and the park looks a good bit tidier and prettier from the work put in. Well done Christina, Eimear, Pauline and Matt
