I have become a regular of Ms. D over the past month or so, so naturally I gave her my number after a few incidents that she told me had happened to her. I told her to use it as a last resort for emergencies and to get in touch with me during the week if she needed a top up with groceries as sometimes shopping for her once a week wasn't enough.

She called me just before 21:00 to say that her window was not locked by the carer and she called Lambeth council and Ms. D said they will be sending someone close to / after midnight. I doubt that was true, but I find it hard to say 'No', so I rushed off into the summery night, running 4k to her house in a record time of 18 minutes!!

Upon my arrival, she opened the door and literally, the task was to shut the window, which was slightly opened for fresh air and turn the latch, which she couldn't reach (as she is in a wheelchair). A bit annoying to run all that way for a 10 second task, but she is in a difficult state and I like to think someone would do the same for me in the future (not holding my breath on it...).
