Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Steve Lee
Two runners helped Mr P with some quick tasks around the house.
Sasha and Steve arrived at Mr. P’s apartment to help him put his beautiful paintings and collages into storage after an exhibition, and help him with a few small tasks around the house.
Sasha had put in an impressive 9 miles on her way over from Stratford this morning, while Steve was satisfied with a couple of km in the aftermath of the excellent costuming, dancing and karaoke-ing of the Goodgym Xmas Party the night before.
The cold outside is really starting to bite, but Mr P’s apartment is a warm, bright, creative, warm and cosy (did we mention warm?) place to do some good deeds on a Saturday morning.
Mr P’s living room is a treasure trove of easels, artists’ materials and books that Steve loved geeking out on (we’re both Ralph Steadman and Egon Schiele fans). This past week Mr. P had been exhibiting a large number of his fabulous paintings and collages and needed a hand delicately putting them back into storage. For any art lovers reading this: He’ll be exhibiting again soon at nearby awesome social enterprise Outpost, close to Archway Station.
Storing artwork done and dusted, there were a few quick tasks around the house that Mr. P (as organised as he is gentlemanly) had ready for us. Taking the burnt-out bulb from the kitchen extractor, elevating the bed and flipping the mattress and giving not one but two vacuum cleaners a quick MOT have left Mr P, and we quote, “a happy first-time customer” of Goodgym.
This was a quicker-than-usual task time-wise, but Sasha and Steve made quick work of a number of things that make all the difference to Mr. P.
Back out into the crisp morning we went, with Mr. P waving from the balcony and a quick chat as we both jogged homeward and shared our anticipation of impending marathons in April. Wish us luck!
