Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Another whopping turn out in Lambeth last night. It’s becoming a bit of a habit. Just as well really as even though we had one cancel we still had three hearty tasks to get stuck into.

Before we set off we all welcomed our new runners and celebrated Marie's 50 good deeds. Marie looked suitably embarrassed so I'm making her the title of today's report just to make an even bigger event of her achievements.

Back to the task. The majority of the group went to Myatt’s field to meet Guy from street scape to help clear up his yard with James and John leasing the way (and not getting lost), It’s been a while since we’ve seen Guy and the yard has had a clear out… it looks massive now, very impressive. That said there was still plenty to do and also time for some good circuits whilst discussing the weasel and the woodpecker, THAT dress, Madonna and the days freak hail storm.

Busy doing circuits and chatting, I forgot to take pictures. So here is a picture of Guy from Streetscape.

The rest of the group ran off to Holland Park Estate to finish the work from last week. here’s the Report from Tom on what the

8 of us ran down to help Ameena and Nathalia again at Holland Town Estate. We were tasked with turning over soil, getting rid of vine weed whilst ensuring the already planted blubs were left in tacked. We split into three groups to tackle these task, 2 of the 3 groups had the benefit of the street lamps to helps us however one group was not so lucky and had only their hawk like senses and Nathalia iPhone torch to help them get through the task. All in all we spent around 40/50 minutes hoeing, pulling and racking up soil and left filling two large green sac with that pesky vine weed and some rather large roots that were impressively pulled up by the team. We also discovered some buried treasure which we thought might be a silver bracket however much to disappointment it only turned out to be plastic.

As the task wore on Rebecca and myself had to bust out some sets of jumps squats to warm up as to put it bluntly it wasn’t t-shirt weather last night. However once we were all done Nathalie was very impressed as the site and they were one step closer to being ready for planting the berry seeds for the summer. This is taking place on the 14th March and she invited Goodgym members to come along where she promised cake and tea, sounds like a winner to me. As always had a lovely time and look forward to the next adventure in Lambeth.
