Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mridula Iyer
On a sunny pre-Christmas day, two intrepid goodgymmers (Sarah and Mridula (me)) went over to Ms. A's house, to help her put up some Christmas decorations. After spending a little too much time playing with her cats we got to work.
We had issues with the fact that the gentleman who had sold Ms A the tree had cut the stump a bit too short. Ms A had the idea that she would be able to put this into some pots with some mud, but even this did not seem to work. We were about to pack it in, when I thought of some over engineered balance/counterbalance with ropes to help hold the tree up. Whilst they didn't quite get the concept immediately (thanks to some poor explaining on my part) they were enthusiastic to give it a try and away we went. 20 minutes later we were all satisfied with the way the tree was hanging.
And then off we went to get decorations to put up. After some precarious wedging between myself and the loft entrance and a rickety ladder, we managed to get the tree decorations down. Ms A also let me put up the angel! A first for me as I had never decorated a Christmas tree before.
After a couple of hours it was time to leave. With one final pat to the cats, we said our goodbyes and merry Christmas's and off we went.
