With grey clouds starting to gather, everyone was keeping fingers crossed for a dry parkrun this morning!

Season regulars Sooz, Rue and Sarah were joined by Nicolas and surprise guest Louise, plus new-to-London Fields Luisa for a fast field of athletic prowess.

Luisa took to the tail, gaining an extra 2km having already run to the mission! Rue, Nicolas and Louise marshalled the first half of the course and Sarah set up under her usual tree.

Sooz was joined at the finish line by a field of volunteers doing their Duke of Edinburgh volunteering, and the course was complete.

A big round of applause for a half marathon milestone, followed by Rue’s usual haka warm up, and then they were off!

Wrapped up in half an hour and ready for morning coffee.

Perfect running conditions under bright sunshine greeted us at the Fields this morning, along with the daffodils that have magically appeared around the course, giving everything a bit of a golden glow.

41 enthusiastic runners, including 5 first timers, took part in run director's Sooz's warm up before setting off around the familiar 2 lap course - it wasn't long before our lead runner was stretching ahead of the pack and soon passing both Nick and Sarah at their respective marshalling points at almost diametrically opposite corners of the course...and with Rue donning the urban fox tail walker jacket, and well supported by 8 other helpful volunteers, we had everything pretty well under covered this morning.

9 personal bests and a collection of smiling (if slightly red) faces later, Rue was last to cross the line to bring this morning's event (#311) to a successful close.
